Another beauty gadget for you, this time for the nails. The Emjoi Micro Nail Electric Nail Polisher is, as the name suggests, an electric tool designed to buff and polish nails. It’s a serious bit of kit that comes with a set of 4 rollers – 2 buffers and 2 smoothers – as well as batteries so you can make a start straight away.
The Emjoi nail polisher works by filing away the ridges on the nail leaving them completely smoothed. You then buff the nail surface to a brilliant shine and it seriously works – if you’re someone who can’t wear nail polish or just love a natural finish then this is a great tool; the finish really lasts plus nail polish looks amazing over the top as obviously a really smooth finish makes all the difference.
However, what makes me nervous is just how much of the nail this buffs away as it’s quite aggressive and if you’re not careful then you could definitely damage the nail. It says no longer than 2 seconds per nail, but even removes a lot. I have extremely strong nails that just do not bend so for nails like that this won’t do much damage, but if you have weak, thin or vulnerable nails then I’d tread extremely carefully with this. This works really well to smooth/remove dead and overgrown cuticle skin too, so if you’re like me and struggle with tough cuticles then this is a great tool for speedy removal. It’s quite expensive at just under £40 but I would assume that you’ll soon be able to buy new rollers so hopefully it’s just a one-time investment. It’s available now here – link – for £39.99.
