I think all beauty junkies have a bit of a soft spot for the occasional bit of Asian beauty as it’s such a vastly different market to the one we’re used to in the UK. It’s quirky, often cute and very interesting to be involved in; reading ingredients list is often quite the eye opener as the Asian beauty market appear to be a lot less squeamish than us! Let’s not forget that a lot of our big beauty buzzes start in Asia – BB Creams and Softening Lotions to name a couple – so they’re products are not to be sniffed at. Cosme-De.com is a site that stocks a HUGE amount of Asian beauty products – I would say if you’re seeking something specific, check there as they will more than likely have it – from most leading Asian brands as well as Asian releases of western beauty brands such as Clinique and Dior. There are also more traditional western products like Benefit, OPI, Aesop and YSL plus some of the infamous Asian brands like Missha and Skin Food. Honestly, it’s a beauty haven so you should definitely pay them a visit!
I was asked to pick a few products from the site to try and at first I thought it’d be fun to try out some of the Asian takes on brand I was familiar with, but then I realised it would be much more fun to select some of the more unusual products, so that’s what I did! As soon as I saw the gorgeous Too Cool for School BB Foundation Lunch Box, I had to add it to my list. It’s a foundation with a concealer and higlighter in the lid and it’s just soooo pretty! The 3 Concept Eyes Skin Finger Sponge just looked mental, so I had to have it. It’s actually a surprisingly sensible (considering how it looks!) base applicator that works foundation into the skin.
The Dr.Ci:Labo Collagen Mist appealed as my skin is always a little bit dry, so a spray packed full of collagen sounded good to me, especially as this is very cheap at just £8. No beauty binge would be complete for me without the inclusion of a mask, and none sounded quite as interesting as the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Mask. I have to say, this smells rank so I’m still building up to using it, but it also sounds fun as it apparently creates bubbles on the skin to push out nasties.
Lastly, I realised I’d never tried an Asian hand cream and the Lilyth Hand & Nail Treatment sounded lovely, so I thought I’d give it a go. As I said, the site is packed full of beauty goodies from the wacky to the more traditional and there are a lot of bargains to be had. If you fancy taking advantage, the bods behind the store have very kindly given me a discount code for both free shipping AND 10% off your order, which is CDNUK1014.
