Occasionally you come across a bit of make-up that becomes an overnight essential. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect highlighter in both a cream and a powder finish and I’ve definitely found my Holy Grail cream one in Kryolan’s Cashmere shade of Illusion. I was first introduced to this particular product in the August Glossybox as Kryolan created a special edition container embossed with the Glossybox logo which contained this very shade of highlighter. I quickly fell in love before managing to lose this little tub of glow, but thankfully Kryolan kindly sent me a replacement.
If you’re the sort of person who loves glowy skin but fears anything too glittery, Illusion is for you. It comes quite a few different shades so there’s bound to be the perfect, natural colour for your skin type and it’s extremely easy to use. In the swatch it looks quite shimmery, but that shimmer breaks down to a glowy finish rather than a sparkle, so this is a great choice for cheekbones and eyebrow highlighting.
If you like to contour with cream then this is also a great choice as it gives such a natural finish. I tend to apply it on the highest part of my cheekbones with my finger tips, which I then smudge around in a ‘C’ shape up to my brow bone. However, if you’d prefer an all-over glow then this mixes really well with foundation – I’ve found using a Beauty Blender to bounce it all over the face is another quick and easy way to add additional glow.
I’ve swatched it in two different lights to hopefully give you a better idea of the finish, however, the brighter picture is a more accurate representation of the shade as the darker picture makes it look a bit peachy, whereas it’s much more of a light, shimmery (but not glittering!) beige shade. It’s definitely one my essential products now and I find that even if I’m pushed for time, I’ll still manage to spare a few seconds to work some of this on to my face. It’s £12.95 here – link.
