Models Own are pumping out some fab new collections lately and I have to say, they’re all right up my street. Rather than going down the typical dirgy, murky autumnal shades route, they’re keeping things bright and sparkly, as is perfectly exhibited in their new Disco Pants collection. Teddy has recently become a bit of a magpie for anything glittery, plus he loves the clacking sound of polishes bottles banging together, so he was in his element when these arrived:
For those unfamiliar, Disco Pants are those skin-tight, shiny, Lycra-style trousers – a famous example being the black ones Olivia Newton John was sewn into for Grease – however, traditionally Disco Pants are usually in brighter shades such as the ones demonstrated in the Models Own Disco Pants collection.
The Disco Pants collection contains five shades: Sound Factory – a bright, neon blue; Paradise Garage – a very pretty emerald green; Studio 54 – a very 70’s bright pink; Copacabana – a pale, metallic gold; Roxy – a deep, sparkly purple. The three shades I have are Sound Factory, Copacabana and Roxy. Interestingly, the finishes seem to be slightly different amongst the shades with Copacabana, Studio 54 and Paradise Garage seeming to have a metallic finish with very mild shimmer, whereas Sound Factory and Roxy are more glittery, albeit still on the safe side of glitter without being a full-on glitter…hopefully that makes sense!
I’ve been wearing and loving Sound Factory (check out my picture on Instagram here – link) which I found easy to apply and relatively hardy. Having swatched the other two, it does seem that Copacabana is prone to streaking which is a shame as chances are it means the same result with occur with the other two metallic shades. However, they are beautiful, brilliant colours with fantastic inspiration, so I’m definitely a fan and I look forward to seeing more swatches when the collection launches online – link – from the Models Own site on the 17th October, before landing in Bottleshops the next day for £4.99 a bottle.
