There are some truly AWESOME launches coming our way from the wonderful Smashbox, and there really is something for every make-up lover to get excited about! If you like a good base product then there are a couple of gorgeous primers as well as a new powder foundation, or if you go weak at the news for a beautifully edited palette then read on! However, if you’re all about lips then there’s a new lip product too, so lots and lots to sink your teeth into.
Starting with the primers there’s the recently launched Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer which I can say with confidence is one of the very best smoothing and pore-filling primers I’ve ever used – it’s an essential for spotty types like me as it smooths everything right down making spots, lumps and bumps much easier to conceal. On top of that, it also levels out pores making them a lot less easier to spot. It’s £28 here – link.
The next priming product is the Photo Finish Primer Water which is the product I’m most excited about as it’s a first for the brand. It’s a multi-use mist version of the original primer that you apply before make-up to prime, after make-up to set and throughout the day to refresh. I have this and I’ll be reviewing it soon, so keep your eyes peeled for a more comprehensive review. It launches in February 2015 for £20.
Lastly in the base products there’s a new Photo Filter Powder Foundation that can be used wet or dry depending on the level of coverage you’re after. It’s infused with light technology and inspired by Instagram filters so it’s quite an interesting product, plus the shade range matches the shades in the existing Smashbox foundation line-up. It launches next year in February for £29.
Continuing with the multitasking theme we have the Double Exposure Palette, a set of 14 nudes, neutrals and smokey shades that can be applied wet or dry – nothing particularly new there but the water has a truly transformative effect on the shadows making this an extremely handy palette. It comes with a dual-ended brush designed specifically for the wet/dry use and even though it isn’t supposed to launch until next year, it’s online here – link – for £37.
Finally on to lips with the arrival of the Be Legendary Lip Lacquers which come in an array of 20 shades, including some beautiful pinks. These are pigmented glosses with staying power and high shine, so everything is covered in the one product. I have a few of these to play with which I’ll be posting about soon, but if you can’t wait, you can find them here – link – for £19 each.
As you can see, there’s a lot of new arrivals and I haven’t even mentioned the fabulous contouring palette, nor the additional lip liner shades. Plus, arguably most importantly, there’s also a pretty wonderful Christmas line-up such as the On the Rocks palette in the first picture as well as the fabulous On the Rocks Primer Trio for £25 here – link – so if you’re a Smashbox fan then I recommend checking out their new arrivals when you next get a chance. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on a few of their products in the coming weeks.
