You might recall a while ago I reviewed the original Oxygenetix Foundation which is a truly wonderful “skin-like” base product that covers really well without making you look like you’re caked in makeup. I’m happy to report there is now another member of the Oxygenetix Foundation family, and this one is designed specifically for us spotty peeps!
The Oxygenetix Oxygenating Acne Control Foundation follows the same principle as the original formula and provides the same level of coverage. The main difference is that it contains 2% salicylic acid (housed in Ceravitae to allow for controlled release during wear time) so not only is the foundation breathable and caring for your skin, it now contains ingredients to help deal with spots alongside vitamin E to help heal skin. It’s a true all-rounder.
I actually forgot how much I love the Oxygenetix foundations as they give such a natural finish whilst feeling great on the skin. They’re not full coverage, although they do offer a lot of cover, but those with lots of spots and scars will need to top up with concealer. I’ve thought a lot lately of how my skin appears to worsen when I wear make-up – something quite new as this never used to be the case – so I’m keen to use products that are going to do a bit of skincare whilst they cover, which is exactly what this foundation is designed to do. It isn’t cheap at £52 for 15ml, but if you can afford it then it really is a great product available in a decent range of shades – I’m Opal which is absolutely perfect for me. I have ‘cured’ my acne by using Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash, after removing foundation with wipes soaked in Garnier micellar water, then use a very little Clearasil spot creme overnight.
Stopped using maoisturiser and all expensive products and use Rimmel 25 hour lasting finish foundation, nice and thick but not spot forming.
Time and time again my spots have flared up when using anything else- I love expensive makes but they all cause spots in me. The above combo is miraculous. Im in my forties and have always suffered from bad skin, until now xxx
