B. launched in Superdrug to considerable fanfare due to innovative formulas and well edited colours that punched far above their mid-range price point. I missed out on the B. love due to my lack of local access to Superdrug, so I’ve only really had a chance to experience the brand quite recently. I was sent a lovely bag of goodies which included two of the B. Vibrant Lip & Cheek Colours and I have to say, even though I acknowledged them as something to give a go at some point, they really didn’t get me going.
It might’ve been the dark grey and chrome packaging that has a small coloured circle on the base of the stick, which is the only hint at what colour is contained within. At first, without proper inspection, I thought these would be eye pencils and it was only when I read the side more closely that I realised they were B.’s answer to chubby type sticks. Fast forward to the last Sunday I had a few free hours when Teddy was with his Dad and I finally got to have a play – holy moly these sticks are awesome!
Apologies for the rather unkempt ‘on the face’ pictures as I usually top up my make-up beforehand but snapping these as lippies was a spur of the moment thing, hence the background noise and inexplicably smug expression… The two shades I have are Prom, an extremely pretty, sophisticated take on the vinyl pink lip, that has mauve undertones to keep it wearable and Alecia, which is a strong, vibrant coral shade. I honestly can’t say which I prefer as I think they’re both awesome colours.
The formula is extremely creamy, highly pigmented and feels very comfortable on the lips. On the cheeks these sheer out wonderfully to leave a dewy hit of colour that reminds me of the old style Bobbi Brown Cheek Tints. Finally, the slightly skinnier pencil allows for a neat application. Huge thumbs up from me for these total stars that are £7.99 a go and available in five shades. There’s also a buy one, get the second half price promo on at Superdrug. Find out more here – link.

Superdrug have come up massively over the past couple of years- some of their own brand products are amazing. I didn’t used to go in there at all, but I pop into my local branch most weeks now. X
So true! When I was a lot younger they were perceived as a sort of ‘poor man’s Boots’ in that they only had very basic brands, but now that’s definitely not the case xx
Absolutely… They lost their cheap image. The collaboration last year with Glossy Box is proof that they are now a beauty addicts shop and not the Poundland of drug stores anymore xx
Exactly! I think now they have Makeup Revolution they’ll keep getting stronger too xx
Even my Mum had kept on the Make Up Revolutuon bandwagon!! I love their pallets for experimenting with new colours with- can take a risk at those prices! Xx
It’s so good though isn’t it? I’ve just ordered all the new Lip Lavas – I saw them on Instagram and within 60 seconds I’d placed my order…xx
