Another perfectly timed and perfectly formed collection has launched from Bobbi Brown, the Illuminating Nudes, which are every bit as lovely as they sound; products in muted, nude tones designed to add a hint of enhancement and a nuance of colour, perfect for anyone who prefers to look well rather than well made-up.
January is the sort of month where everyone hits the reset button which is why I think this collection is so well timed – now’s the time to pare back the make-up and aim for a fresh and glowy finish rather than anything too structured or OTT. The Bobbi Brown Illuminating Nudes collection starts with a natural, dewy base using the Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm followed by the CC Cream before using one of the three new shades of the Matte Blush. Brows are groomed into place using the awesome Natural Brow Shaper, then eyes are gently enhanced with one of the two new shades of Sparkle Eye Shadow. A quick slick of mascara finishes the eyes, then lips are given a healthy hint of colour with one of the new “almost” shades of the Lip Gloss, or even just a coat of the clear Brightening Gloss if you really want to keep things simple.
I see this look as a bit of a Sunday look, when you don’t want a full face but still want to look fresh and awake…even if you’re not feeling that way! The products I have used in the look above are Sparkle Eye Shadow in White Sand, Natural Brow Shaper in Auburn and Lip Gloss in Almost Peach. My favourite of the three is the beautiful lipgloss, which just gives the most subtle hint of peach that’s extremely flattering with either a strong smokey eye, or a laid-back look. The Auburn shade of the Natural Brow Shaper is a little too red for me, but not as red as I expected it to be making it a very wearable shade for anyone with warmer tones. The Spark Eye Shadow works alone or as a top coat over other shades, making it a great addition to any collection.
