As of 2015, Teddy’s dad has been able to start having him for a few hours on a Sunday which allows me a few hours to do whatever I want. The first of these Sundays was a couple of weeks ago and I had a day of true indulgence that started with a fry-up and coffee at the local cafe and finished with a pizza and a film. In between that, I had some serious pampering courtesy of CitySwish who arranged for a home visit from the lovely Charleen.
CitySwish is a newly launched service that provides a whole host of at-home beauty treats such as nail services, waxing and spray tanning and massage. They work with a lot of freelance therapists that gives them flexibility for short notice bookings, meaning you can quite literally decide you want a pamper and arrange it for straight away; obviously this isn’t always possible, but to give you an example, I’ve just checked the site which gives you availability info and I could have someone visit me an hour from now, so it’s very handy if you find yourself with some sudden free time.
Charleen showed up with a suitcase full of goodies to do both my hands and feet. There was no difference between a salon visit and the at-home visit as every products and treatment was used. My favourite bit was the massage on both my hands and feet – so relaxing that I could’ve dozed off! The treatments are arranged by time rather than per treatment, so you pay £45 for an hour of beauty treatments, £60 per hour for massage treatments and £55 for a combination of the two. To give you an example, if you booked a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage (30 mins), a luxury manicure (45 mins) and a luxury pedicure (45 mins) you’d pay £110 for the two hours. You are paying a slight premium for having the treatments in your home, but to be honest I expected it to work out a lot more expensive than it is – 2 hours of thorough, luxury treatments without having to leave my home for just over £100 sounds good to me!
