Recently (I want to say last year, but I could be wrong) the Queen Diva herself launched an impressive beauty line containing a decent collection of make-up, skincare and fragrance. I’ve been sent a few make-up items to play with that I thought I’d show you in a quick post before following up with more comprehensive reviews at a later date; mainly because I think it’s quite easy to write-off the range as something that wouldn’t be suitable for a younger audience, but as you can see, the products are pretty wonderful to look at in vibrant and easy-to-wear colours.
I’ll start with the negative which is the packaging: it just doesn’t do it for me and I think it cheapens the overall look of the makeup. Having said that, it does kind of work with what we know of Joan Collins; she’s a old-school diva who likes glitz and glamour which I’d say is what the packaging tries to be: glitzy and glamorous. Some will dig this, I find it a little on the tacky side.
However, don’t let the gold finish fool you as inside you’ll find some real treats. There’s some great base products in the range including the much raved about Fade to Perfect Concealers, of which the two lighter shades are pictured above.
In the base range there’s also the pictured Meticulous Powder which offers light coverage with skincare loving hyaluronic acid so the finish isn’t drying. The coloured powder pictured is the Contour Velvet which, as the name suggests, is designed to add definition as well as warmth to the skin.
The palette I’m most excited to get stuck into is the Feature Finish Brow and Eye Definition Kit as it’s such a pretty yet functional set of products. There’s also a great brush range and the lip colours in the line are spot-on. Speaking of which, howsabout that fuchsia shade in the Glorious Gloss lipgloss, aptly named Too Hot to Handle? In conclusion, I’m not loving the packaging but I am loving what’s inside – which is much more important! I’ll be posting my thoughts on some of the products soon, but if you fancy checking the line out yourself, it can all be found here – link.

Thanks for this post. Interesting. The only problem is that when you follow the link to check out the stuff (lovely overnight make up bag!) the images are really small.
