More make-up to lust after now, with possibly my favourite product Max Factor have ever released, which is their new Creme Puff Blushes. The minute I saw these I immediately thought they were like a cheaper version of Mac’s Mineralize blushers, since they come in a baked format with a lovely sheen finish, but Kat from Tales of a Pale Face accurately pointed out their similarity to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers in her review too.
There are six shades in total, with suggestions on which skin tone would suit which shade, so you have Lovely Pink for fair skin tones, Nude Mauve, Seductive Pink and Lavish Mauve for fair to medium skin tones, Alluring Rose for medium to dark skin tones and finally Gorgeous Berries for dark skin tones. Obviously these are all suggestions and I think it’s safe to say that you can find a colour you like and use that without it looking off.
I have three favourite shades: Lovely Pink which works brilliantly against my pale complexion and gives just enough colour and lift without looking too OTT, so great for low-key make-up days, Lavish Mauve which is another very flattering shade and lastly Nude Mauve, which is a really interesting blusher as it gives a healthy glow with a touch of colour to skin, without looking like you’re actually wearing anything – you don’t look made-up, you just look healthier. I’m wearing Nude Mauve here.
I’ve read a few reviews of these blushers and all of them say the same thing as what I’m about to say, which is that these are absolutely brilliant. The colour payoff is high yet buildable and blendable, the shimmer is glowy rather than sparkly, the shade range is dreamy and the price point is spot-on. Not only are they very pretty to look at, they’re also high performing, easy to use and very flattering – Max Factor have got these spot-on so I hope for more releases like this from the brand please! The Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes are available now for £8.99 a go here – link.

Gorgeous Berries is so pretty!
It’s a very pretty shade but I think it’s a little too dark for me, sadly! xx
Hi, what shades of pink and peach would you recommend for fair-olive complexions?
Hi Rosie,
I would say any of the first four are worth swatching, although I’d particularly suggest either Seductive Pink or Lavish Mauve as the two lightest might be too pale; if you can get to a Boots to have a play then definitely swatch them first xx
As soon as I saw these I thought of the MAC Mineralise Blushes, I hadn’t thought of them being comparable to the Hourglass Ambient Light Blushes, but I can definitely see it! I picked up one of the mauve shades & love it! I’m adding more to my wish list all the time! Xx
These are absolutely wonderful and I really hope they add more shades; a peachy shade would be gorgeous xx
It really would! Maybe something coral too, perfect for summer! Xx
That would be fab – a coral and a peach would be very welcome xx
