I love Philips Sonicare brushes. I saved up and bought my first one shortly after they launched and even though I’ve dabbled in other brushes, I’ve always, always come back to the Sonicare. I personally find it unbeatable with regards to effectiveness and ease of use, and even though I resented spending a small fortune every time I needed a new brush head (thankfully they’re now not half as expensive as they used to be) I would always suck it up and find the money as you cannot beat a Sonicare.
I was recently given the Sonicare DiamondClean to have a play with and let’s first address the awesome colour – pink is always a winner for me and this baby looks especially pretty in pink. Up until I received this one I’d always gone for the EasyClean which is a cheaper option and a great choice if you’re short on cash – it’s no-frills but it does the job – but now I’ve tried the DiamondClean I think it would be tricky to go back to anything else.
The DiamondClean has five settings for brushing; Clean for everyday cleaning, Gum Care which gently massages gums, Polish to brighten and Polish your teeth, Sensitive for gentle brushing and White which removes surface stains. There’s also a timer that lets you know when to move the brush around every 30 seconds and the brush shuts off after 2 minutes. In the evening I tend to use Clean for 2 minutes, then polish for 1 minute before using White for 30 seconds on my visible teeth. There is nothing quite like the feeling of a Sonicare clean – teeth feel extremely smooth, clean and fresh.
Last mention has to go to the charging facilities which are just awesome – you have a USB charging option, however, the main and easiest way to charge is with glass which sits on top of a plate that plugs into the mains. When you need to charge the brush, you simply pop the brush into the glass and it starts charging; there’s no lining up, carefully positioning it to charge properly, you just drop it in and off it goes – it’s very cool!
