She Who Dares is quite an interesting brand as it’s a collection of products and gifts designed to be gifted to a woman you find to be inspiring, for whatever reason. I do find this brand ethos a little bit cheesy, plus I also think that if you want to give an inspiring woman a present it could be from any range and doesn’t necessarily need to be from a pre-edited collection of gifts for inspiring people, but that’s just me.
There are two fragrances in the range, Dalliance and Eminence. They’re both quite nice fragrances and certainly very Summery, but I’d say my favourite of the two is Eminence which is a little lighter and fresher. These are definitely fragrances aimed at a slightly older market – I’d say 40+ – so there’s no sickly sweet vanilla and jasmine here! Eminence is a floral fragrance with musky base notes and peppery top notes. The notes include bergamot, pink peppercorn, rose, peony, forget-me-not, lily of the valley, sandalwood, soft musk and patchouli. It’s available in 3 sizes with the 30ml starting at £32 here – link.
Dalliance is a more grown-up mix of fruity and floral notes, and whilst you have jasmine in the mix, it isn’t very dominant. The other notes include tuberose, magnolia, ripe pears, with all these sitting on a musk base. Whilst I prefer Eminence, Dalliance does open up nicely and once it settles down, it’s actually quite a wearable scent. It also starts at £32 here – link. I think these perfumes have potential, but are not quite there yet. The heavy use of mask in both scents have given them a slightly old-fashioned finish, which is a shame, as the other notes are lovely. Also this isn’t exactly a cheap fragrance, yet the bottle tops are made using a really cheap plastic – again a real shame as the bottle design is quite fun and quirky, but the top should be made of a better material.
