The June 2015 Birchbox is a collaboration with flat shoe brand French Sole, so the box packaging is available in three variants which correspond with one of the enclosed products.
There’s a fairly good mix in the Birchbox June 2015 contents – nothing exceptionally exciting, but no major duds either. As usual, here’s a look at the contents in order of my favourites:
I absolutely love the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms and the Birchbox June 2015 box comes with either Ripe Raspberry or Honey Nectar. I got the latter, Honey Nectar, which I’m very happy about as nobody does a nude tinted lipbalm quite like Pixi! There’s also a decent sample fo the REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant FIrming Beauty Shot which I’ve heard and read good things about, so I’m looking forward to giving it a whirl. Also pictured is the folded Birchbox x French Sole Shoe Bag, which is a little bit of a niche inclusion as I’m not sure many people are in need of a shoe bag, but it’s a very pretty design and it’ll get used for storing make-up, as does any kind of storage that enters my home…
Next up is the Cowshed Body Lotion in either Gorgeous Cow or Knackered Cow; I, aptly, received the latter variant. It’s a good size, great for travel if you’re going away, but I’m so fussy and rubbish at using body lotion that this is likey to be donated to my mum. There’s also the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle product which is apparently a great multi-use all-in-one that performs various task such as frizz-reducer, detangler and shine enhancer, with a sweet, bubblegum scent. I tend to have hair that’s naturally quite flat and frizz-free, so I seek out products that’ll add more oomph and texture, but I have a few friends that’ll be all over this.
Finally we have the Penhaligon’s Iris Prima sample. Penhaligon’s can do very little wrong in my mind – they produce some of the most complex, beautiful scents – but I hate getting perfume samples in a box as these shouldn’t be counted, since you can very easily get them for free. Last on my list is the STYLondon Temporary Metallic Tattoos, which are awesome and come in fab designs, but these are for hip, young things who will be attending festivals and going clubbing this year, which of course are things I won’t be doing any time soon, since I’m ANCIENT. And also a single mum.
There we have it – the June 2015 Birchbox is not the greatest box they’ve ever done, but it does contain a few great goodies such as the Pixi balm and Ren serum, plus I do love the design of the shoe bag. For more info on Birchbox, head here – link.
