I always look forward to the Boots No7 seasonal launches as they’re very good at releasing products that are pretty timeless and make for worthy investments that won’t suddenly become useless once the fashion changes. They also rarely go overboard with their seasonal releases, meaning there’s often just a few lovely bits that work with the typical season colours rather than what’s fashionable at the moment in time. The SS15 launches are a very good example of that:
First up are the Shimmer Palettes, which are very similar to the Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks in that they contain several strips of different coloured, shimmery powder. There are two variants, Rose and Caramel, and they’re very pigmented which means they can be used as eyeshadows too, so great space-savers for holiday packing.
You have to apply them and them buff them in as applied alone they don’t look natural enough due to their intense pigmentation, but once buffed in they give a great glow with a shimmery finish. These are £13.50 with Caramel here – link– and Rose here – link. For my pale skin I find Caramel a better option when I have a bit of (bottled) colour and Rose better when I’m paler.
The other palette pictured is the new No7 Beautiful Eyebrow Kit which is an extremely good kit that I am absolutely loving right now. I won’t go into too much detail here as I have a full review prepared, but this kit contains everything you need for a fantastic brow finish – three brushes, two powders, one wax and one highlighter…other brands take note, this is how you do a brow kit! It’s £12.95 here – link.
Now on to the glorious summer shades of polish, of which there are three. I like the fact that these are all extremely different to each other; you have the metallic Rose Gold – a great choice for tanned fingers and toes, the traditional summer pinky coral of Grapefruit and lastly, my absolute favourite of the bunch, Bluebell. I was wearing this a couple of weeks ago (here it is, along with raggedy cuticles – sorry!) and it’s been quite a while since I’ve received so many compliments on a nail colour.
As is almost always the case, my pictures aren’t doing the colours justice, but Bluebell is a vivid, purpley blue that looks almost neon – it’s stunning so if you like these sort of nail shades, get Bluebell as quickly as you can – they’re all here – link – for £7 a go. Finally there’s the extremely pretty Petal pink shade of the High Shine Lip Crayon – £9 here – link – and there’s also a new trio of plumy grey shades in the Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Trio called Tea Party for £9.50 here – link.
