Cecil the Lion Prints

There’s been a bit of a divide over the Cecil the Lion killing coverage, since there’s been such a massive outcry; some think it’s entirely justified, whilst others think there are much worse things happening in the world that don’t get half as much coverage as the death of Cecil.  I absolutely see both sides, but I’m extremely happy that Cecil’s death has riled so many, as I really hope it’ll make these horrid trophy hunters think twice before doing something so horrific, such as killing a beautiful lion.

I really am so upset about Cecil’s death and every time I hear or see anything about it I get a heavy heart.  However, I saw these amazing prints from Aaron Blaise and I just had to share.  Firstly, Aaron Blaise did the animation for The Lion King, so how fitting is it that he releases a print of Cecil, who I feel is our very own King of the Lions! You can get the print either with a quote from The Lion King (the one I’m going for) or without, and the print alone with postage from the states comes in at just under £17, or a couple of quid more if you order tracked delivery which I did, to err on the side of caution.  It’s also available framed, but the postage becomes pretty extortionate, so I’d recommend buying the print and getting it framed here to save a few bob! The best part is that profits from the print sales are going to WildCRU who were the guys protecting Cecil.  I just love everything about this project; the fact that it’s so wonderfully poignant, plus the profits go back to Cecil’s keepers make it feel like we’re righting a terrible wrong in a very small way.  Here’s where you can buy the prints – link.
