The second I heard that there was a House of Elemis launching in London, I knew it would be somewhere that offered an amazingly pampering experience with attention to every detail, and I don’t want to brag or anything, but I was absolutely right. A quick search on this blog will tell you how much I love Elemis – their products are effective, brilliantly formulated and just the right side of pampering – skincare lovers love Elemis.
There are two types of facial available at House of Elemis, each of which contains sub-categories; you have Touch Facials which are, as the name suggests, hands-on treatments, or Technology Facials which involve the use of more beauty gadgetry. Under each of these facial types you have specific treatments for various skin types and issues. I went for the Touch Facial as I love a good facial massage and I was given the Anti-Blemish Mattify and Calm treatment.
If you just want to completely shutdown and immerse yourself in a treatment then the House of Elemis is for you. Every little detail is taken care of, from the music – repetitive and soothing without being distracting – the lighting, which changes colours to promote deep relaxation, the bed itself is a like a big cushiony hug that you can have pretty hot if you want to feel totally and completely comforted, and even the door closes at a super slow rate so that it doesn’t make a sound – seriously, every detail!
Consequently, the facial itself was just dreamy. Relaxing, lots of massage, deep cleansing and masks, all of which came together to create a seriously indulgent experience. So much so that when the treatment finished I was convinced I’d been shortchanged and only given a taster treatment (I was obviously wrong…) as the hour just flew by! With these types of treatments you often get what you pay for and this is quite expensive at £95 for the hour long treatment, but you will feel amazing afterwards, your skin will look and feel tremendous and you will have no regrets on investing in such a great experience. At the end of the facial I was given some product recommendations which included some of my all-time favourites, so it’s great to see I’m using the right products for my skin type! Do check out the House of Elemis menu and indulge yourself in a treatment, since they do a little bit of everything such as massages and pedicures (so much want) as well as The Speed Spa where you can have 15 or 30 minute treatments if you’re short of time.
