I’ve been throwing myself into new skincare recently – and enjoying every minute of it, I do love me some good skincare – but I took it a bit far and had what I call a “skincare breakout”, which is when I get lots of little surface spots that I know are reactive, superficial and thankfully easy to get rid of as long as I include some particular treatments in my routine, one of which needs to be a decent, clay-based mask…cue The Organic Pharmacy Purifying Seaweed Clay Mask!
The Organic Pharmacy Purifying Seaweed Clay Mask has two key ingredients, as the name suggests, and these are Seaweed and Clay. The clay is there to suck out impurities whilst the seaweed calms and soothes inflammation – you don’t get breakouts without surrounding inflammation, so it’s great to have something to treat both the actual spot and the resulting issues. In many ways this is a pretty standard clay mask, it goes on smoothly, dries crisp and isn’t the easiest to remove, but it isn’t harsh or drying, so it’s a great choice for sensitive or dehydrated skin types.
The main reason I’ll keep using this is that it did a really good job at getting rid of my little skincare breakout – 24 hours after use the spots were pretty much gone, plus my skin felt soothed and calmed. I especially rate this for the combination of seaweed and clay, plus even though it isn’t the cheapest clay-based mask at just under £38, for that you get 40ml, you don’t need a lot for each use, and it definitely does exactly as it says on the tin. You can find it here – link – for £37.95.
