Monu are a brand that I’m only really familiar with as a result of them featuring in the monthly beauty boxes, but I’m hoping they’ll start getting a bit more exposure as what I’ve tried from them has been very good, with an example of that being their Aromatic Mask. Firstly, on the cover it’s called “Warming Aromatic Mask” which I think is a bit misleading as it suggests it’s going to heat-up, much like those Biore masks you used to get that would warm up on the skin (they were kind of awesome, weren’t they?) but the use of “warming” in describing this mask refers to the “warming” ingredients, such as Lavender Oil.
The Monu Aromatic Mask is a creamy, fragrant treatment product that relies on Natural Attapulgite Clay to perform the deep cleansing element. It’s a non-drying formula that feels light yet nourishing on the skin and it smells just the right side of fragrant without feeling overly perfumed. If I were to compare it to similar products, I’d say it’s a lot like the Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask or the Caudalie Purifying Mask, however, this is the most gentle of the three, leaving skin feeling gently cleansed and well hydrated.
After use, there’s a definite noticeable difference to skin and this is a particularly good choice for anyone who has relatively good skin, but would like to add a little more to their routine with a good and reliable weekly treatment. It’s foolproof, kind to skin and I can’t imagine it would cause many problems for even the most sensitive skins, but of course, if in doubt, patch test first! It’s £28.95 here – link.
