Yesterday I had the joy and privilege of catching-up with Team Tarte to find out what’s coming our way this Autumn. It’s safe to say, you’ll need to hide your credit cards if you’re a Tarte fan on a budget, as you’re going to want everything! In the meantime, I thought I’d share another QVC Tarte set that’s a total star if you’re prone to oiliness or shine.
Tarte’s bases are renowned for impressive yet lightweight coverage, with a great example of this being the Amazonian Clay Foundation. The set I’m posting about contains a full-sized Amazonian Clay Foundation, a Buffer Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush (one of the very best and easiest ways to apply any kind of foundation for a flawless, buffed-in finish) and a full-sized Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder.
As the name suggests, the foundation has a clay finish, which isn’t as claggy or dry as it sounds, but what it does do is keep shine at bay, and you feel it kicking-in throughout the day; this is a dream come true for those who suffer from excessive oiliness, but less so for those of us who are prone to dryness or dehydration. Consequently, skin can feel a little tight after a few hours, but thankfully it doesn’t look dry or tight, so a quick mist of a facial spray will solve the tight feeling.
Of course the same rule applies to the powder, which is a little too dry for me as again, it isn’t really designed for my skin type. Having said that, it leaves skin looking light and dewy rather than typically mattified – you just look healthy rather than greasy – and the finish is all very natural and clean. In conclusion, this is the most perfect set for anyone who has problem, oily or spot-prone skin as you get three brilliant products – a high coverage foundation that leaves an amazing natural finish, the most perfect brush for applying a seamless base, and a powder to set it all in place and leave skin looking fresh and polished. I’ve stolen the picture of me above from my previous Tarte post since everything I’m wearing in the picture is Tarte, including both the foundation and the powder. I have the Fair kit, which comes with the foundation in the Fair Sand shade, although there are six colour choices in total. Most of which are currently sold out on QVC at the mo, but they should hopefully have new stock soon! The kit is £39.50 here – link.
