I was planning to write this post after Christmas, but I’ve decided to squeeze it in before as all the new arrivals would make for lovely gifts, so I thought I’d flag them up, just in case you’re still searching for the perfect gift. In the dreary, Winter months, Clinique are here to perk us up with a flurry of new colour for lips, a lovely nude eyeshadow palette and a brow palette too – what more could a girl want?
I’ll start with the lip products as there are two new things of note, the Quickliner For Lips Intense – a collection of 12 new lipliners in a great range of shades and in a twist-up pencil format – and the very existing extension shades of the Pop Lip lippies. The Quickliner for Lips Intense comes in an array of shades that should suit all skin tones and preferences, from bright pink, to nude, to a deep, deep brown. These are £14.50 here – link. There are eight new shades of the Pop Lip Colour and Primer Lipsticks, most of which are nude, berry or pink, with some absolute corker shades – I love, love, LOVE these lipsticks and I have a few of the new extension shades to try out, so I’ll be doing a more detailed post on them in the new year. In the meantime, you can find them here – link – for £16.
The Pretty Easy Eye Palette is every bit as perfect as it sounds – a collection of eight nude eyeshadows alongside two minis of the gorgeous Skinny Sticks. Each of the shadows are numbered and within the palette is a guide demonstrating two looks that can be achieved using the shadows and liners together.
The two looks are Naturally Pretty or Dramatically Pretty and the brown and black shades of the Skinny Sticks mean you have quite a bit of room to play with finishes, making this an ideal travel palette that’ll certainly see you through the party season – pair one of these looks with one of the new Pop Lip shades and you are good to go! The palette is £35 which is such a good price, and you can find it here – link.
Finally the Pretty Easy Brow Palette contains everything you need to fill, define and fix your brows. You get a brow powder, a highlighting powder and a “fixative” which is kind of like a waxy powder. I really like the fact that you get 2 double-ended applicators (a sponge for the powder, a brush for the highlighter, an angled brush for the fixative and a spoolie for getting everything in position and blending any hard lines) as you don’t often get that in brow sets – it’s very handy!
It’s a shame there’s only one shade available so far – anyone with very pale or dark colourings will struggle with this – but hopefully they’ll add some more shades soon. It’s £25 here – link.
