Last month saw the arrival of the brand new Smashbox Studio Concept Store in Central London. I’ve driven past it a few times and seen how fabulous it looks, but I didn’t realise it was actually open to the public, so having found out a lot more about it I’m very excited to pay it a visit!
If you’re a Smashbox fan, you need to put aside time to visit the store as it’s a lovely, bright and beautiful space that’ll fully immerse you in the Smashbox experience. The impression I get is that it’s somewhere to encourage your creative juices (so it’s especially great for bloggers!) in a relaxed environment, so for chilling out you have the Hang Out Zone and the Coffee Bar, for getting snap-happy there’s a sound-proof video booth for filming, a Ring-Flash selfie booth for the perfect phone selfie, and most excitingly, there’s also a full-service photographic studio available for complimentary hire.
If you’re more about the browsing and fancy some beauty-themed culture, there’s a photography gallery for both up-and-coming and established photographers to showcase their work, plus there will also be an ongoing artist in residence programme kicking off in January with Donald Robertson (check out some of his work here – could he be a better match for Smashbox?!) celebrating 25 years of Smashbox.
Finally, the elements that I think will have the most general appeal are the events, masterclasses and studio services. Obviously these are all going to differ depending on the timings, but there’s a core menu of complimentary services available for you to brush-up on your make-up skills, and these are Perfect Canvas for creating a perfect base, Flawless in a Flash for tips on getting ready in less than 15 minutes, Brow, Define and Perfect for perfect brows, Contour and Highlight for perfecting your contouring game and the one that I want to try, Eyes & Lips #ShapeMatters, help with identifying your eye and lip shape to adjust your make-up accordingly. I’m so excited about this concept store and I really hope it does well and other brands follow suit. The Smashbox Studio Concept Store is at Unit 1A, 1 Fitzroy, 6 Mortimer Street, London W1T 3JJ. Give them a call on 0370 192 5353 or e-mail on smashboxfitzroy@smashbox.co.uk to find out what’s happening in-store. The opening hours are Monday – Friday 10 – 7 and Saturday 10 – 6 (Sundays are closed).
I am so happy you wrote this post – I was unaware that we had one here in London, so I’m defo going to be paying it a visit.
