Twice now I’ve gone to post about a new Kiko collection just as an even newer one has launched – the next one is a stonker – seriously stunningly lovely – which I’ll share a quick peek at on my Instagram later, so keep your eyes peeled for that. In the meantime, let’s have a closer look at the charming little Valentine’s Day launch from Kiko, the Best Friends Forever collection.
I think this is the most wonderful approach to Valentine’s Day as it celebrates the love found in friendship, which is particularly lovely for us singletons, who usefully find ourselves woefully neglected on this day. The Best Friends Forever collection contains lots of trinket-style products that you could lovingly give a good friend on Valentine’s Day to tell her you’re thinking of her, without it getting weird. It’s love, done in a fun and girly fashion.
My favourite example of the sort of thing you could give a good friend on V.Day is the extremely cute Love Kiss Lip Balm, which is a balm contained in a heart-shaped tin that arrives in a drawstring bag. A very sweet gift that’s just lovely in every sense, making it a steal for less than a fiver here – link.
The True Love Nail Lacquers completely caught me off-guard when I tried them as the finish is very unusual! It’s pretty much the matte glitter vibe that was popular a year or two ago, encased in bright pigmentation with a tiny bit of sparkle poking through every now and then. The finish is very textured, so if you don’t like a rough nail then you won’t like these, but they comes with impressively staying power, yet they aren’t a pain to remove, so quite the winning formula. There are three shades, the two above are Sweet Fuchsia (pink) and Red Kiss (red) and these are £3.90 each. There are lots of other lovely bits and bobs in the BFF collection, such as the pictured Pochette (£8.90), the Love Elixir Face Powder (£14.90) and the Eyes of Love Mascara and Kajal Kit (£9.90).
