I have a chequered history with dry shampoos as I don’t tend to find the popular ones particularly effective on my hair type, plus I hate the feeling of “producty” hair, which I often find dry shampoo creates, so I’m quite fussy! The Fudge Urban Crisp Pear & Sweet Vanilla Dry Shampoo is my idea of an ideal dry shampoo as it smells lovely, doesn’t cost the earth, comes in a great, big bottle, and most importantly, it really does work to lift the greasy look from hair, whilst adding a bit of body too.
The one thing I really like about the Fudge Urban Crisp Pear & Sweet Vanilla Dry Shampoo is that it’s very layerable; I often find with other similar products that you can easily overdo it, so then you’re left with hair that feels and looks chalky and matted, so you either have to give up and wash it (not ideal if you consider that dry shampoos are usually used to save time) or spend ages rubbing and brushing it out, which not only isn’t ideal for the condition of your hair, it’s also time-consuming and not necessarily effective. This dry shampoo works really well to gently reduce grease, and I use it by spraying in short bursts to the greasiest/flattest areas, then gently rubbing out any excess. I repeat these stages until I’m happy with the finish and the result is hair that looks a lot cleaner with a lot more bounce – consequently I reach for this regularly and I will be restocking once I run out…which will likely be quite a while away since it’s a very good size at 200ml. Another thing it’s really good at is adding a little bit of root lift to freshly washed hair that’s gone a bit flat. Finally, don’t worry too much about the fragrance, as whilst it’s very nice, it’s also very subtle, so it won’t interfere with your perfume. All this joy for just over a fiver!
