Mask Monday: Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask
The Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask is an award-winning treatment mask built around the cult Alpha-H Liquid Gold chemical exfoliator. I’ve raved about Alpha-H many a’ time on here because it’s one of the most results-driven ranges you can get your hands on without having to have some form of formal consultation first. This is mostly due to the high concentration of Glycolic Acid which features prominently in the majority of Alpha-H products.
The Alpha-H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask is a wonderfully effective product that feels creamy on the skin, doesn’t dry and smells really good, thanks to the inclusion of soothing lavender. The chemical exfoliation starts pretty much as soon as you apply and there’s a definite “zing” for the duration of the treatment whilst the acids get to work. It’s a quick-working mask that stays on the skin for 10 minutes, and in this time it smooths and refines, providing a “powerful, once-a-week, at-home, mini-peel” which I think is pretty accurate – it’s certainly as effective as many of the actual at-home peels I’ve picked up online, but the difference with this is that it contains other, skin-loving ingredients to sooth and hydrate whilst treating. This is definitely a product I highly rate for extremely effective chemical exfoliation; just make sure that you patch test it first as it’s definitely a strong product that might be a bit too strong for very sensitive/reactive skin types. It’s designed for a good selection of skin types such as oily, problematic, mature and combination and I think that’s fair as the leading ingredients would benefit all of these skin types. This is one for the regular use kit and is designed for weekly use, so the 100ml tube should last you around eight uses, I predict. It’s £48 here – link.
