The Birchbox January 2017 contents is…functional. I wouldn’t say there’s anything I’m getting terribly excited about, but there are some bits I’ll definitely use and some really known brands to top it off.
The January 2017 Birchbox contains a good mix of make-up and non make-up items with two full-sized products. Here’s a look at what’s included starting with my favourites:
The Merci Handy Hand Cream has arrived perfectly timed as I’ve just run out of my handbag hand cream, so this one will be replacing it. There are various shades of the Nails Inc Polish mini, I got Chester Street which appears to be a chic, silvery mushroom that I’m looking forward to trying. The Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream is quite a nice inclusion in the box as I don’t think we’ve had any shaving creams in any of the boxes for quite a while, and it’s a good example of the sort of product that most people use.
The Lord & Berry Conceal-It Crayon should be near the top of my list but it’s completely the wrong shade for me (Beige) and yet it’s too light for contouring, so it isn’t going to be of any use to me; a real shame because I’ve heard good things about the brand and I would have liked to try something from them, but it’s terribly risky including a base product as whatever shade you include will exclude a large proportion of the subscribers. The final product is the Nuxe Multi-Usage Dry Oil Shimmer; yes it’s pretty, yes it’s handy, yes it’s lovely use, but I seriously seem to have so much of this stuff that I think I could actually fill a bath with it (now there’s an idea…) and never, in my entire life, am I going to be able to use it up – as it stands it’s something I probably only use a couple of times in the Summer months to add a bit of glisten to bare skin, so it’s just not a product I’m into getting more of.
