There are a few products that I always believe to make a humongous difference when it comes to make-up; obviously things like corrector and a good foundation are essentials for someone with crap skin like mine, but if you’re generally okay and just want a few basics to use on a daily basis, I’d recommend finding a really good blush shade that suits your complexion perfectly, a mascara that’s quick and easy to apply, a brow pencil that matches your hair and a highlighter that lifts your skin; the latter of which can be found in the new Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters.
There are three shades available in the Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters, You Light Up My Life, which is a warm bronze, Ray of Light, a rose gold with bronze and Blinded by the Light, a champagne shade; I’ve been trying out the latter two shades. Each highlighter comes presented in a heart-shaped compact with a mirror, all of which are typical of Too Faced cuteness. They’re sturdy plastic and very eye-catching – Teddy won’t leave them alone so I have to keep hiding them from him!
The highlighters themselves are as you’d expect from Too Faced, buttery, smooth and very easy to work with. They’re also easy to build so you can go for a wash of light if you’re like me and prefer to keep things very natural, or build it up to ‘Instaglam’ style strobing levels if that takes your fancy. I also go for cooler shades so predictably, I much prefer the Blinded by the Light shade which works really well with my complexion, however, having read other reviews, the Ray of Light shade is a very popular, suits-all shade that is a great place to start if you’re a highlighting novice. Each Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters is £25 and can be purchased at Debenhams here – link – or directly through the American Too Faced site here – link – but remember there will likely be high postage costs if you go for the latter.
