The July 2017 Birchbox is sunset-inspired in a very pretty box that makes me want to run off and fly away to a beach somewhere tropical. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, contents-wise, containing six products in total.
There are a few stars and a few duds, with nothing full-sized which is likely to irk some subscribers who are used to getting at least something on the large side. On the plus side, we’re getting a preview of a Benefit product and some great mainstream bits too.
My favourites were very clear cut this month, starting with the Benefit Gogotint Lip & Cheek Stain, which is the aforementioned preview product as it doesn’t actually launch until the end of the month – some will get an existing shade of the same product, Chachatint. Next is the Origins RitualiTea Feeling Rosy Face Mask, which I’ve been wanting to try for a while so I’m very happy to have it. I’m also a big fan of Micellars for whipping off make-up at the end of the day, so I’m looking forward to trying the Balance Me Flash Cleanse Micellar Water.
The less favourable products start with the Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery, for no other reason than the fact that I don’t think it would be particularly well suited to my hair type – however, if you’re someone who has hair that’s prone to frizz or dryness, this inclusion might be a godsend. Next up is the English Laundry Oxford Bleu Femma EDP which smells absolutely gorgeous – like a creamy, citric vanilla – but it’s low on the list because it’s one of those sample packets that you can get for free on counter; and it isn’t even a spray one, instead it’s the annoying lidded ones that always leave me soaked in perfume. The final product is the Anatomicals Softening Eucalyptus Foot Cream which is last on the list because it’s another. bloody. foot cream. The July Birchbox is available now – find out more here – link.
