My favourites for this month have a few bits that I don’t think I’ve mentioned at all, either on here or on Instagram and/or Twitter; I put a lot of thought into my favourites for June (I often just look at my beauty table and work out what I’ve been reaching for most or what has got me most excited) but over the past few weeks a few products have really stuck out for me, so here they are:
Oh look, it’s Oxygenetix again! There have been so many amazing foundation launches recently, some of which I really love, but I’ve still found myself reaching for the Acne Control (here – link – £59.50) version of this amazing foundation, mostly because I’ve had a bit of a breakout from a night of binge drinking and the inevitable stress hormones from worrying about my operation next week, and I find this foundation so reliably decent at both covering and treating my awkward skin, that I don’t think I’ll ever find a replacement. At the other end of the scale, the NYX Eyebrow Powder Pencil (here – link – £5.50) is completely new to me, yet it’s quickly become a favourite thanks to it’s easy texture and brilliant shade – Taupe is the one for me as it’s a brilliantly cool brown that sits on the right side of grey, but there are quite a few other shades available, and it’s so cheap too.
I had to include the Garnier Ambre Solaire Anti-Sand Spray (here – link – £7) as it has made a usually difficult job so easy! Persuading Teddy to stay still whilst I rub icky-feeling cream all over his face, neck, ears and body before we go out, then again when we’re out, is such a battle – he hates it, I hate it and it’s just an all-round chore, but this spray has completely changed all of that; it’s now a case of just getting him to stay still for about 20 seconds whilst I mist him with SPF. I was dubious at first but we were out for hours on a very hot day last weekend and he didn’t burn at all, so I’m a total convert – it’s a great and easy SPF for any age too as you literally just spray and go. Unsurprisingly, my favourite fragrance is currently the Giorgio Armani Sky di Gioia (read my full review here and buy it here – link – starting at £48) as it’s such seasonal perfection and it’s just one of those scents that I have to keep spraying – I’m going to get through it very quickly! Finally on to a bit of skincare, the Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Multi-Correction Treatment (here – link – £36), which is the perfect product for skin that needs a bit of maintenance as it’s a bit of an all-rounder; it keeps mild breakouts at bay, heals spots quickly, doesn’t dry my skin out and finally it’s definitely having an impact on my spot marks and scars, which is awesome. It isn’t great for proper acne or hormonal breakouts, but once you have those under control, this’ll help keep things that way. I randomly found it in my massive skincare collection a few weeks ago and I haven’t looked back.
