When a package containing new Armani Beauty goodies arrives, usually the most exciting elements are the make-up bits (more on that soon!) but the inclusion of the Sky di Gioia fragrance has absolutely made my week as this is such a gorgeous perfume that could not be more me. Housed in a simple, elegant bottle with gentle curves and a hint of a blush pink exterior, this is a fresh, floral and fruity fragrance that’s hitting all the right notes.
I definitely have a type when it comes to perfume; I usually enjoy a burst of fruit that sits upon floral heart notes with something a little denser at the base to give thicken it up and stop it heading into soap/Potpourri territory. Giorgio Armani Sky di Gioia starts with pear and litchi at the top, with rose and pink peony at the heart followed by cedar, white musk and juicy blackberries at the base. The result is a zingy, fruity and moreish scent that settles into a really good balance of fruity floral. It’s really well suited to the sun as it’s light and bright, and I really love the blackberry at the base as it maintains the fruity burst throughout; often with floral/fruity fragrances you get that initial hit of fruit before the flowery dry down takes over, but the blackberry in this steps up and keeps things really nicely balanced. I love this so much! I’ve literally had it less than a week and I’ve already made quite a dent in it as I just can’t stop smelling it – even now, as I’m sniffing away to write about it, I’m stopping every few moments to inhale this a bit more. It’s a very pretty scent that will happily see you through the Summer, so if fruity florals do it for you, grab yourself a bottle of this as soon as you physically can. It’s available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml, priced at £48, £66 and £79 respectively. Find it here – link.
