Since my skin has settled right down (I say that, but I have my first cystic spot appearing on my chin for absolutely ages as I write this – I have no idea how to deal with it and I can’t believe I used to get these all the time!) I’ve been able to focus my skincare joy on things that aren’t all about spot-fighting, which has been a complete and utter joy. There are a few overnight miracle workers that I’ve been loving recently, so I thought I’d share this trip of products that will make a noticeable difference to your skin after one use.
Earlier this year, I attended an event to find out about the upcoming launches from Murad, and the one I was most excited about was the Rapid Resurfacing Peel. These are individual sachets containing towelettes soaked in a potent mix of Vitamin C and 10% Glycolic Acid, which together brighten and smooth skin, making a noticeable difference after just one use. I love to follow with a simple moisturiser and awake to glowy, hydrated skin. Find them here – link – for £35 for a pack of 16.
The Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel is a two-step product that packs all the big skincare names into one tiny, inoffensive product that’s fun to use and feels like it’s doing all the good things that your skin needs. You start with step one which exfoliates, smooths and preps skin for all the goodies included in step two, which is designed to firm and lift courtesy of Retinol (amongst many other skincare power ingredients) but don’t let the “anti-ageing language” put you off if you don’t have skin in need of that kind of help yet, as this is a product that performs a multitude of tasks including blemish-busting, pore clearing and rosacea soothing. Another thing I love about this is that you can buy it in an introductory kit of five sachet duos, so you can give the product a good try out before committing to a larger investment. It’s here – link – with prices starting at £15 for 5.
The final product is my favourite of the trio, and it’s also the cheapest of all three – result! The Avon Anew Clinical Even Texture & Tone Advanced Resurfacing Peel is the product I have to limit using, as I would use it every day if I thought I could get away with it. It’s your run-of-the-mill acid peel pad, but it really does slough away dead skin and impurities, leaving skin thoroughly exfoliated and glowing without any redness. I always make sure I use this before a day when I want to look my best as it really is fantastic. It’s usually £15 but currently on offer for a £10 here – link – it’ll be the best £10 you ever spend!
