One of the many things I love about Christmas is the way tradition suddenly becomes important; there are old traditions, like the Christmas dinner, carol singing, decorating the tree and binging on absolutely every kind of indulgence, then there are the newer ones that remind you of your own Christmases. For these include the arrival of the Coca Cola advert (don’t judge me, but I always use to get so excited when the “holidays are coming” song would start blaring out of my bulky 90’s TV) and also, more recently, the beauty world and all it’s yearly traditions, which is perfectly exemplified by the Christmas edition of the Philosophy Shower Gel.
Every year, Philosophy release a limited edition Christmas version of their cult shower gel, and it’s always something unashamedly Christmassy that’ll allow you to literally smell of Christmas. This year, the scent is Candy Cane, which is a sweet and minty scent that’s fresh, festive and just the right side of zingy. I’m not a huge mint fan (my pregnancy ruined most things minty or gingery) but if you are, you’ll love this take on Candy Cane as it’s light yet fragrant and easy to blend in with other scents. I also love the fact that the Philosophy Shower Gel packaging is so instantly recognisable; I’m glad they never really doctor the shape and style as I feel the way it looks adds to the traditional feel.
