Welcome to the first beauty box post of 2018, the Birchbox January 2018 review! Let’s see how many times I accidentally write “2017” today. The Birchbox January 2018 is a collaboration with British stationery brand Ohh Deer, resulting in a very pretty box – you can’t beat a Birchbox drawer box can you? I love how collectable they are.
The Birchbox January 2018 contents is pretty decent, with a good mix of make-up and skincare. There are some great brands, good products and I would guess that most of the bits are things that we could all make full use of. There isn’t anything overly exciting, but nor is there anything terrible, so it’s a solid box full of goodies this month. There’s a cute little selection of sticker sheets included in the Birchbox January 2018 box, which I kind of think are aimed at the bullet journal writers out there, but as someone who can *just about* keep things up to date in her iPhone diary, this is not the hobby for me. However, they are cute and I do love the idea of being the type of person who uses stickers to document her life. It’s just never going to happen. Anyway…
The Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Charcoal immediately caught my eye (boom, boom) as I do love a charcoal liner; it’s especially great on blue eyes as it brings the colour right out. I think the product most will be excited about is the Paul & Joe Beauty Moisturising Foundation Primer and quite rightly too, as this lightly shimmering, glow-giver sounds amazing. The Afterspa Amazing Makeup Remover is another great addition to the box, as I love these types of cloths; if you’re unfamiliar, you use them with water to remove all make-up and they really do work, so great for travel or sensitive skin types.
The Thermaliv Night Cream looks and sounds lovely, but it’s low in my list because the sample is so small that it would be tricky to tell if it’s going to work for my skin. The final product is the Lord & Berry Blusher Crayon in Peach; an awesome inclusion in the box, but low on my list because it’s the sort of shade that won’t suit me at all. Some lucky box receivers will get the Camelia shade which is a lot more up my street. Find out more about Birchbox here – link.
