The April 2018 Glossybox is very interesting! Usually Glossybox tend to ensure a variety of product, ranging from skincare, to body care, to pretty much anything that falls under the beauty umbrella, but the Glossybox May 2018 contents focuses solely on make-up, and I’m not at all unhappy!
There are five make-up products in the April 2018 Glossybox, all of which are full-size and all of which are pretty universal, which I think is definitely something that deserves a little credit in itself. There are three face powders, which may or may not please subscribers depending on how you feel about such products (haters of powder products in general won’t be pleased!) but they all perform different functions and I think they all deserve their place in the box.
My favourite product in the Glossybox April 2018 contents is the MDMflow Liquid Matte Lipstick. The reason being that I’ve always had an interest in the MDMflow range as I find it interesting and a little bit different, and I’ve heard nothing but great things about their matte lipsticks, so I’m happy to have one in my kit. The shade is Retro, which is a lovely, flattering and wearable, soft, medium pink, that I really, really like. I’m not a big fan of matte formulas at the mo, but I’m making an exception for this one. Next up is the rather interesting Glossybox exclusive Karl Lagerfield – ModelCo Baked Blush in Light Beige. This pale, shimmering powder screams highlighter to me, but I can see how it might be used to add the gentlest hint of colour to cheeks. I was looking to pick up a translucent setting powder today, decided to research it a bit more, then found the Affect Cosmetics Matt Effect Transparent Loose Rice Powder in the box, so that’s handy!
As you can see, the Modellauncher Safari Bronzer took a bit of a battering on its journey to me, plus I think it’s featured in a previous beauty box as I’m sure I’ve had it before. Finally, the Eyeko FAT Liquid Eyeliner is a great inclusion in the box, but it’s low on my list because I don’t get on that well with fat eyeliners – I think they’re aimed at the more skilled! I don’t often focus on the value of beauty box contents, because I think you can be thrilled with a selection of budget goodies in one box, yet disappointed with an edit of luxury items in another, but I will say that this month the contents comes in at at least £70 (a very rough estimate as the Karl Lagerfield product isn’t available yet, so there’s no price) which is not bad at all.
