Birchbox May 2018

Birchbox May 2018

The Birchbox May 2018 has got a lovely, ‘chilled out holiday’ vibe about it, thanks to the Palm Leaves and Warm Breeze theme.  The box itself is special edition, thanks to the partnering with British homeware brand, Elizabeth Scarlett.  The Birchbox May 2018 contents contains five products, which are a fairly decent mix of make-up, skincare and body care.

The dinky little Doucce Luscious Lip Stain comes in a very pretty rosey pink shade (Amber Rose – there’s also Steaming Red in some boxes) and it promises long-lasting pigment in a matte finish.  The Nuze Aquabella Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Gel sounds really interesting, as it promises to deeply cleanser and hydrate tricky skin – it contains Hyaluronic Acid so I’m looking forward to seeing what it does.  The Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner sounds exactly like my sort of product, and has arrived at the right time as I’ve recently got back into eyeliner.

I’m not sure if I can get on board with a deodorant balm, but it sounds kind of interesting…kind of! The Native Unearthed Activated Charcoal Natural Deodorant Balm promises a whole host of antiperspirant abilities using natural ingredients, and you apply a pea-sized amount to clean underarms.  The final product is the Greenfrog Botanic Geranium & Peppermint Botanical Bodywash, which works well with the theme of the box, but I don’t love things that are peppermint scented.

Due to the collaboration with Elizabeth Scarlett, there’s also the option to purchase the eye mask which is actually a really nice product that’s soft and comfortable to wear, blocks out all light, and is scented with lavender too, so it’s great for help with dozing off.  The eye mask is usually £20, but Birchbox subscribers can get it for £14.  Not the greatest saving you’ll ever make, but if it’s something you fancy then at least you can get a few quid off the RRP.  Birchbox is available here – link – with prices starting at £10 a month (plus £2.95 p&p).
