I’ll happily confess that I never really tapped into the whole mermaids and unicorns excitement, but if any brand is going to sway me, it’s tarte. The tarte Mermaid Collection contains three key sets, including a gorgeous palette, a brilliant lash duo and a very pretty brush set. Here’s a closer look at three of the products:
The Be a Mermaid & Make Waves Eyeshadow Palette is probably going to be the piece that everyone gets excited about, as it’s beautifully presented in a soft seashell containing delicately presented shadows in 14 shades and matte or metallic finishes. The colours are very much in keeping with the mermaid theme, with shades of sea blue and golden sand, alongside pretty pinks and purples, yet the whole edit is surprisingly wearable. You also get a matching brush which tarte often do with their palettes, and I think it’s such a nice touch. The palette is currently out of stock at QVC UK (keep an eye on this page – link) but you can pick it up directly from tarte here – link – for £37.
The tarte Mermaid Lash Curler and Mini Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara is my favourite of the trio as the Lash Curler is absolutely amazing; I often really struggle with lash curlers as they don’t tend to fit my eyes very well, so they either pinch and make my eyes water, or they’re such a bad fit that they’re basically pointless. This very pretty set from tarte gives lashes the perfect curl, without any angles or bends, allowing the fantastic Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara to then step in and do a a great job at adding drama and length. Annoyingly this set is also sold out at QVC UK (hopefully it’ll reappear here – link) but you can also get this directly from tarte here – link – for £17.
The final product is the 5 Piece Minutes to Mermaid Brush Collection, which is a gorgeous brush set with fish tail handles in purple, blue and green with pink and white bristles – so much pretty! The set includes a Large Powder Brush that really is massive, a Cheek Brush, a Highlighter Stippling Brush, a Domed Eyeshadow Brush and a Pencil Brush. The set is also really well priced at £31 from QVC UK here – link.
