Aveda recently launched their Feed My Lips collection, which is a range of lip products including lip primers, lip liners, lip treatments and, of course, lipsticks, of which there’s a great shade selection and a handy shade-matching tool available on their site, that’ll provide you a selection of suggestions based on your colourings. I tried the quiz and really liked the suggestions, which were all cooler pink shades, but I really fancied the look of the other shades, including the beautiful Rose Jicama.
Rose Jicama is a fairly neutral, mid pink that just about fits in the ‘my lips but better’ category, giving lips a beautiful fleshy, pinky nude shade that’s soooo flattering. Interestingly, it looks a little purple in the bullet, but it comes out more pink on the lips, as you can see. I love this sort of colour, as I think it’s one of those staple shades that works with all looks – you can dress it right up with a smoky eye, pair it with dazzling glitter for a night out, or keep it low-key with a tinted moisturiser, bit of blush, slick of mascara and this on the lips. It’s a great shade in that it looks quite nude on the lips, but it won’t wash you out. The formula of the Aveda Feed My Lips Lipstick is creamy and comfortable, without too much slip, so you don’t have to constantly reapply. There’s a light fragrance that I was a bit worried about at first, but it isn’t strong so it doesn’t interfere with anything. There are 22 shades in the range and there really is a good mix, so well worth having a look to see what you can find.
