I do so love a good beauty bargain, especially when it contains star products that you’d actually want, and the Smashbox Superstars set is a perfect example of exactly that; a selection of great products, all of which will actually get used. The Smashbox Superstars set contains five products, three of which are full-sized, whilst the other two are smaller, but definitely not what I’d call sample-sized. Here’s a look at what you get:
The lead star product has to be the Cover Shot palette in the Ablaze colourway – I was so excited to see this particular palette included as it was hugely successful when it launched, providing eight warm, fiery shades that are perfectly autumnal. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe this sold out when it launched. The Camera Ready Contour Shadow Brush is also included, which I’ve already used today and really liked – it’s perfectly shaped for general shadow application (I used it today to apply a single shade all over the lid which it did beautifully) so it’s a great addition to the set.
The next eye product is the Super Fan Mascara, which is also full-sized. I also used this today and it does exactly as it says on the tin, providing length and separation with an easy-to-use brush. When I think of Smashbox, I immediately think of the iconic primer, so obviously one had to be included in the set – as a side note, have you seen how many different primers Smashbox now have? Well worth checking out if you’re a primer fan. The Super Light Photo Finish Smooth + Blur Primer comes in a generous travel size, as does the Photo Finish Primer Water, which is an interesting product that cuts the time on primer application. The set is £30, which is a brilliant bargain considering the palette alone is worth £24, the brush is worth £20 and the mascara is £17.50, so even without taking into the account the value of the primers, the three full-sized products are worth £61.50, whereas the combined value of all five products is £88.50. The Smashbox Superstars set launches today (1st November 2018) and will be around for seven days, so if you fancy grabbing one, you’ll need to move quickly. It’s a Boots exclusive so you can find it either in-store or online here – link.
