I desperately wanted to post this on Valentine’s Day last week but it was such a busy week that I didn’t get a chance to – such a shame! As I’m sure you might’ve seen on social media, Pixi sent out a lovely set of their Rose Infused Skintreats to some of us bloggers, and it was such a lovely set to receive as it came presented in a gorgeous cosmetics travel pack that I can’t wait to put to use when I have my night at The Park Spa on my birthday next month! Annoyingly, my skin struggles to tolerate most rose-based products, so I’m quite limited on what I can try from the range, but I wanted to share it all with you as there are some lovely new bits joining the existing collection. If you want to check out some of the other Pixi Skintreats that I’m very excited to try, check out my post here.
The three main products that I know have been around for a while are the Rose Flash Balm, the Rose Oil Blend and the Rose Caviar Essence. The Rose Flash Balm is kind of like a multi-purpose skincare treat that can be used to intensely hydrate skin, when used as a mask or even just a moisture-boosting primer. The Rose Oil Blend is, as the name suggests, a skin oil with rose as the lead ingredient. The Rose Caviar Essence was the one product I was most excited to try when it first launched, as it contains little capsules of concentrated flower oil housed within a refreshing gel, and it looks so fantastic!
The two mists in the Skintreats Rose Infused collection are Makeup Fixing Mist, which has been around for a little while and offers a hydrating and beautifully scented facial spray that sets make-up and stops it looking too heavy, and the new arrival, the Rose Glow Mist, which is like a spray-on oily hydrator that sounds incredible – I’m building up to try it, even though rose causes me problems, because I feel like I need this in my life!
There are two new cleansers and these are the ones I can try, as I don’t find that cleansers are on the skin long enough to cause any major issues, although I do always follow with a toner to make sure! The Makeup Melting Cleansing Wipes are the product that we’re supposed to hate, as cleansing wipes aren’t great for the skin, but I definitely think they have their place, and you can use them to remove make-up as soon as you get home (then following with a proper cleanse later…) and I’ll be taking them away for my impending overnight stay. The Rose Cream Cleanser sounds like a dream come true, so I can’t wait to try it, as I would love to have a bit of rosy joy in my routine.
The Rose Ceramide Cream sounds really interesting and is clearly an exciting new arrival to the collection. It’s a a rich and deeply nourishing moisturiser full of ceramides, rose oils and botanicals, so a great choice for anyone with very dry skin that needs a powerfully hydrating boost. The Rose Tonic is new-ish, although I’ve had it in my collection for a while, and it really didn’t suit my skin – I found it made it sting for some reason, although it could just be my issues with rose as an ingredient.
The full Pixi Rose Infused Skintreats collection is available on the Pixi site with prices starting at £6 here – link.
I really love the mist & essence but I haven’t tried everything yet! xx
