One of the great things about Revolution Beauty is how much newness they throw at us on an almost daily basis; there is always something new when you check out their site and there’s also something on their Instagram to covet. The downside of this, prom the perspective of a blogger, is that if you’re sent some new bits to feature and you don’t act on it almost immediately, they lose their ‘new’ tag very quickly! Therefore, here are some relatively recently launches from Revolution Beauty…
There have been lots of new highlighters launching recently, which is awesome, as they are so pretty and in some really fab shades. I remember yonks ago I got my hands on a Revolution highlighter and wasn’t especially impressed with the quality as I found it rather chalky, but these newer ones I’ve tried are completely different and a real budget find. First up, how stunning are the Revolution Renaissance Illuminate highlighting palettes?
They arrive in the most beautiful presentation, with a kind of dust-bag style pouch, and there are three colourways available – Gleaming Gold, Radiant in Rose and Blissful Bronze. Obviously my favourite is Radiant in Rose and I love the way each shade is a gradient, providing a multitude of possibilities.
Carrying on with the highlighting theme, the I Heart Revolution Star of the Show Highlighters are right up my street, as I always favour a plain highlighter as I know where I am with them and I’m not expected to be experimental! The Star of the Show Highlighters comes in three shades: Superstar – a deep bronze, Gold Star – a warm yellow and finally Star Struck – an icy lavender.
Star Struck is very much my type of shade, and it’s a great choice for pale, cool-toned skin like mine as it’s a very flattering shade that definitely is giving me Becca Prismatic Amethyst vibes. I also really like the fact that it’s in a star shape as it makes it fun to use and great to park on your dressing table.
The I Heart Revolution Star Fizzers are so much fun! You throw them in the bath and they move around in the water with a tail of colour chasing them around – they are very pretty, fragrant and really a joy to use. There are three scents – Vanilla which is the yellow one, Aquatic in green and Berry in pink. I could not recommend these enough for something fun to add to your bath.
Last year, Revolution took a step into the world of hair colour and, as usual, they didn’t do things by half. There are now three types of hair colour available as part of the I Heart Revolution brand: Paste Instant Hair Colour, which comes in a pot in six different shades and is literally a coloured styling paste, so you can add streaks to your hair and be pretty creative. The next step up is the bottled Shots Temporary Hair Colour, which are your more traditional wash in/wash out style that lasts 1-3 washes and comes in six slightly more muted shades – these, to me, are kind of like toners, with a fab shade selection available. Finally there’s Tones Semi-Permanent Hair Colour. These last 8-12 washes and are available in a good selection of nine shades, with a mix of pastel and vibrant tones.
I think we can all agree that one thing Revolution Beauty does better than any other budget brand is a good palette, and the I Heart Revolution Cranberries and Chocolate Palette is truly the best example of how brilliant their palette offerings are. If you’re not into the warm eye look that’s definitely a thing right now, but still fancy giving berry and sienna tones a go, this is the palette for you, providing some truly beautiful takes on warmer (but not overtly warm) eye tones.
Finally we have the I Heart Revolution Lipglosses, a collection of 8 chocolate nudes with matching names that I won’t go into too much detail about, as I’d like to do a full post (with swatches!) soon. These are a lovely take on the ever-trendy nude lip, with a shade to suit everyone.
