The Chantecaille Future Skin Oil-Free Foundation is a product I’ve had my eye on for a while as it sounds and looks quite unlike anything else I have in my collection. Promising lightweight, adjustable coverage in a comfortable and light-reflecting gel formula, this is one of those products that quickly became cult for very good reason.
For me, the perfect foundation is lightweight but buildable, as I really think the most natural finish is achieved by first applying a layer to ‘tidy up’ the skin; this layer should remove redness, reduce the appearance of blemishes and add a bit of luminosity. The the second ‘touch up’ layer should add a bit more coverage as and where you need it. The Chantecaille Future Skin Oil-Free Foundation is absolutely perfect for this. I’m shade Porcelain which I believe is the lightest shade.
As you can see in my pictures, I was having a bit of a hormonal breakout when I took the pictures for review, which was at least handy to demonstrate coverage, so there’s that…The thing I like more than anything else about the Chantecaille Future Skin Oil-Free Foundation is the glow it gives skin – it’s that iconic “lit from within” finish that my pictures haven’t demonstrated at all, but it’s the sort of finish that really does make you look like your skin (and health!) is far better than it is – this is a real foundation for faking it until you make it.
I was a bit nervous about the fact that this is oil-free as I’ve used oil-free products before and they’ve left my skin looking parched, but you would never tell this is free from oil as it feels incredibly hydrating and light on the skin, I would even recommend this to my mum who has extremely dry skin. As a final mention, I’ve applied this with a sponge, brush and fingers and all techniques give an equally decent finish – I favour the sponge as I think sponges push product into the skin better than anything else, but that’s just a personal choice. At £63 this isn’t your bargain-level base, but it is one of those products that proves to be a worthy investment as everything about it is luxurious, plus you need a tiny amount for each use so the pot will last forever!

I would never have guessed that this is oil-free because it makes your skin look plump and fresh! xx
So true, it doesn’t seem dry at all so it’s a big surprise! xx
