As promised and further to my post on the new Bobbi Brown Foundation extension shades, here’s a full review of the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15, which is one of the two Bobbi Brown Foundations (the other being the Skin Foundation Stick) now available in an impressive 43 shades. I was matched to the shade Sand which is what I’m wearing in the pictures below.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 comes in a brushed glass bottle with a pump dispenser that’s easy to control. I go for a fairly high coverage which I find needs two pumps – one pump is enough for the whole face, but I like to go over redness and blemishes with the second pump as this means I don’t have to follow-up with a concealer.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 is described as full coverage, but I think it’s more medium-to-full, or “high street full” – if you have a lot to cover then this won’t manage it alone, but it certainly gives a very decent coverage, making it a godsend for me at the moment as it saves me time in the morning – if I’m particularly knackered-looking I’ll use something around the eyes, but I haven’t felt the need to add in any concealer since starting to use this. This also provides a matte finish that isn’t dry or cakey, which again is great for me as I’m using quite rich skincare at the mo which can leave me looking a bit shiny – of course I can use powder, but on school run mornings I don’t always have time, and I find this formula ticks all my boxes perfectly.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 is oil-free and provides up to 16 hours wear. I rarely have make-up on my face for 16 hours, but I can say that the wear is definite very good and whilst I’m not quite as fresh looking when I take my make-up off in the evening (who is?!) there’s definitely plenty left, to the point where I wouldn’t bother touching up up if I had evening plans, although I might go in with a bit of powder. Don’t be afraid of the lack of oil either, as this doesn’t feel dry at all on the skin, in fact it feels really lovely and I definitely like it very much – it’s going on my make-up shop later today!
