I have a little selection of skincare products that I keep in my kit for when I really just cannot be bothered. These are the sort of products that do amazing things in a very short space of time with minimal effort, and the Paula’s Choice Radiance Renewal Mask is a great example of these types of products. It’s a mask that you can use as a quickie (minimum 20 minutes) or overnight treatment (I prefer the latter) that’ll brighten, hydrate, sooth and add a decent hit of antioxidants too.
The lead ingredient in the Paula’s Choice Radiance Renewal Mask is Arbutin which is great for brightening skin, adding clarity and evening tone. Niacinamide is there too, to decrease the appearance of pores and work alongside the brightening effects of Arbutin. Bearberry extract provides the antioxidant hit, then Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin provide the humectants to trap moisture. The formula feels quite silicone-y which unnerved me at first, especially in a product that I was leaving on overnight, but this didn’t cause me any issues with breakouts or congestion. I washed my face as normal the next normal and I didn’t feel like it was extra-necessary as a result of the leave-on mask . I did notice skin felt extremely smooth and looked clearer and more polished. I felt skin looked like it had experienced some serious exfoliation to get that “buffed” look, but the mask is so gentle that this is a great way to achieve that finish if it’s something you like but you’re trying to wean yourself off from physical exfoliators…which you should, as they’re not great for the skin! I would say most skin types would be able to see benefit from using the Paula’s Choice Radiance Renewal Mask, but as with all new skincare, if you’re at all unsure, patch test first and make sure your skin is happy.
