If you’re a regular reader then you’ll know that I’m a die-hard retinol convert; I think it’s one of the most skin-transforming ingredients out there and I use it religiously. However, when you use a good quality retinol, it’s quite hard to slot a good chemical exfoliation in anywhere (mainly because retinol does such a good job at keeping skin renewed) and I’ve made no effort to keep it a secret that I love a good AHA product, so finding a way to insert it into my routine has proved a big of a challenge; you want something that’ll deliver on that lovely smoothness of a chemical exfoliation, without any harshness, and plenty of buffering ingredients to keep the skin happy – enter Lozano Skincare SkinTea Active Renewal Masque.
Lozano Skincare SkinTea Active Renewal Masque is a rinse-off mask that comes in a serum-like consistency. You apply it, leave it for 10-15 minutes (or longer, it’s very gentle) and wash it off. The mask is basically a powered-up exfoliating mask with some key acids alongside some lovely skincare ingredients. The acids are Glycolic (3%) and Lactic (1%) as well as fruit acids from papaya which is fantastic mix of gentle yet effective acids for a light exfoliation. These sit alongside Hyaluronic Acid a’plenty – which is second on the key ingredients list so it’s a dominant ingredient – and pomegranate which provides antioxidants thanks to the Vitamin C, which I would guess comes from the papaya as well. The main ingredient is white tea, which does a bit of everything, providing another antioxidant boost that helps to brighten and add glow, assisting the acids and keeping everything calm. This is such a lovely mask that’s really gentle yet provides a host of obvious benefits, leaving skin feeling both brighter and smoother as well as softened and hydrated. So many exfoliating masks can strip the skin of moisture, but this does the opposite, making it a great option for sensitive and/or reactive skin, although if you do fall into that category then make sure you patch test first. It’s £32 for 50ml which is decent value since a little goes a long way. Use code LAUNCH10 for 10% off your first order.
So great… love moisturizing masks.
