I feel like dry shampoos have come on such a long way in the last few years, going from powdery hair stiffeners that took away all shine and softness alongside all the grease, to multipurpose products that not only put life back into hair, they add volume, they add fragrance and they allow you to revive and style hair in a matter of minutes. COLAB is one of the main budget Dry Shampoo brands and they’ve recently added a new fragrance to their range, the Dreamer scent.
Dreamer is packaged in a feminine, pretty-pastel-pink bottle that houses a fragrance that’s light and powdery, with “delicate notes of powder and musk”. The scent is definitely light, but it does linger, which is fine by me as it really does smell lovely – I would’ve presumed it to be my perfume I could smell rather than my dry shampoo as I got whiffs of it throughout the day. I really, really rate COLAB as I’ve always found their dry shampoos consistent and reliable for getting the balance just right; giving lank hair that much needed boost of volume and lift without any white marks or residue. I often use a dry shampoo straight after a hair wash as my hair can go very flat, but I find with some dry shampoos, you have a limit on how much you can layer before it starts feeling very built-up, but the COLAB ones don’t seem to have that issue. The COLAB Dreamer Dry Shampoo is £3.49 for 200ml, although Boots currently have it on offer here – link – with a third off for £2.33, making this one hell of a bargain. If you haven’t tried COLAB Dry Shampoos before and Dreamer doesn’t sound like your sort of scent, have a look at their site here – link – as they have a good range of fragrances.
