I was pretty happy with my photos until I realised that, out of context, the random inclusion of a (perfectly cool-toned blonde) Barbie might appear a tad creepy, so for the benefit of clarity, the Barbie was included with the sendout of the new Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning Shampoo and Conditioner, presumably to demonstrate the effectiveness of this duo and how cool-toned it keeps the blonde, so it’s definitely done that – I might have to take the Barbie with me on my next hair appointment because I love that blonde so much! Almost grey but not quite, just really, really ashy – gorgeous, right?
I absolutely adore the original Fudge Clean Blonde range as the combination of the shampoo and conditioner provide incredibly effective colour-toning, knocking out all of the yellow without turning your hair purple. They’re also lovely to use, giving hair a dose of hydration without weighing it down; as colour care goes, the original Fudge Clean Blonde duo are pretty close to perfect, so I was excited to try the new Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning Shampoo and Conditioner, which promises the same toning benefits of the original, with the added benefit of care for your blonde hair. The first thing I noticed about the newer versions is that the colour is more potent, so more likely to stain hands; this is not a deal-breakers as it’s very common with colour-correcting products, but the thing I like about the originals is that they’re very pigmented, but they don’t stain. After using the new Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Violet Toning Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair felt a little dry and flyaway, although the colour correction was very noticeable. I was expecting hair to feel soft and cared for, since “damage rewind” suggests an element of care, but I would say the original two are actually better all-round products. You might like the newer two if you have hair that’s fine or prone to oiliness, but I think those of use with normal hair that’s dyed (so can get easily dry if not handled correctly) would be better suited to the original duo. What a brilliant send out, including Barbie! I’m brunette but as soon as lockdown is over, I’m getting my balayage back so will keep these in mind for my ends! x
