For the first time in a very long time, I have quite a strict hair care routine that I’m following, as not only is my hair loooong overdue a trim (my last trim was November last year as I had an appointment scheduled in early April…) but also, my hair seems to be falling out, which isn’t what you want really, is it? I don’t know if it’s stress, the fact that I’m on a contraceptive pill that can cause this problem, or a variety of factors, but I’m treading very carefully to try and preserve what’s left! Consequently, I have three products that I use post-wash to care for my hair, I’ve also invested in a Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer (unfortunately believe all the hype; it is stupidly expensive but utterly amazing) and I’m trying not to tie my hair up at the root, so I’m wearing it in plaits most days.
Two out of three of my post-wash care products are from Philip Kingsley. I use a heat protection spray, then I use the new Philip Kingsley Elasti-Styler which I was very excited to get, as not only are Philip Kingsley my all-time favourite hair care brand, Elasticizer is my all-time favourite hair care product, so anything that was associated with that was going to be good. The Philip Kingsley Elasti-Styler is a 5-in-1 treatment that promises to strengthen, condition, prime, tame and add shine, without adding any weight, and it really does do all of those things! The only thing I find a bit disappointing is that it doesn’t contain heat protection, as I think most styling products should nowadays, but it really does all the things it promises; hair feels so much stronger, looks shinier and most importantly, doesn’t look greasy or full of product. Another issue I often battle with is flyways and this definitely helps with that too. You use a large pea sized blob and work it through the lengths and ends then dry as normal. Another absolute winner of a product from Philip Kingsley, launched at a perfect time for those of us struggling with lockdown hair.
It’s currently £26.50 (usually £30) at QVC UK here – link.
*PR Sample – I was not paid to feature this product.
This definitely sounds like a product that I would benefit from as my hair needs some taming at the moment! I need it cut so badly! x
