Baths are such a joy for me at the moment. I really look forward to them and I always make sure that they feel like a real treat. I use face masks, hair masks, oils, bubbles and most recently, I’ve been using salts too, and what a huge difference a really good helping of bath salts can make! Westlab recently launched a quad of new bath salts to form their Alchemy range, and it’s one of those ranges that just makes total sense, especially right now, when we need all the help we can get to chill out.
Westlab are known for their bath salts which utilise healing ingredients such as Epsom Salt and Magnesium, but the Alchemy range tends to focus a little more on promoting wellbeing in general, with each of the salts providing a particular benefit:
Cleanse – Epsom and Himalayan Salt with Lemongrass and Pink Grapefruit, helps refresh and cleanse body and mind
Recover – Epsom Salts with White Willow and Eucalyptus help soothe tired, aching and overworked muscles
Mindful – Epsom and Himalayan Salts with Frankincense and Bergamot help restore calm and serenity
Sleep – Epsom Salts with Jasmine and Lavender help you to drift into a peaceful night of sleep
I have really enjoyed trying out these bath salts as they’re really up my street, especially as they give a bath purpose and allow you to shape your evening around what you want to achieve with your soak. For example, a few weeks ago I had an outpatient appointment where I had to do a lot of walking and I was so sore by the time I got home, so I made a bath built around soothing my muscles and helping me relax, and the Recover bath salts were fantastic for this.
My favourite of the four is the Sleep salts because not only are they dreamily fragranced with my all-time favourite jasmine, they also have the lavender balance just right; lavender is such a tricky one as it can smell so overpowering and sickly, but it works well with the jasmine and feels like it really does encourage better sleep.
The full Westlab Alchemy range is available now for £5.99 for 1KG of bath salts. I got through my bag of Sleep pretty quickly, but I definitely put a lot more in than recommended (plus I topped up whilst I was in the bath – do love that jasmine!) so I would say a 1KG would probably last 4-6 baths.
Boots currently have a special offer where these particular Westlab salts are half price at £2.99, so now is definitely the time to try them out – I’ll be treating myself to a couple of bags of Sleep very soon. Find them here – link.
