My relationship with my hair this year has been (and still is) very mixed. I’ve mentioned previously that when I was unwell, my hair started to thin out quite drastically, so I’m grateful that it’s starting to thicken up again, plus it’s also very long which is a double-edged sword as I love having long hair, but it’s such a pain to look after as it’s quite fine but there’s quite a bit of it. I have been a lot more careful with my hair care and I’m using a lot of care products to try and maintain the condition, which is fairly good, all things considered. I recently tried the Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray and it was love at first use.
I think it’s really important to protect my hair from heat and brushing, as these are the two biggest issues that could potentially damage my hair at the moment. My hair takes a while to dry and gets very tangled, so I need products that help to address these problems, but I also can’t use anything that’ll add weight to my hair as then it very quickly becomes greasy. It’s a battle with my awkward hair type, but the Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray straddles that tricky balance.
The Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray promises to be “a featherweight conditioning detangler that delivers all the benefits dry, damaged hair needs to look and feel healthier” and these benefits include both heat (up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit) and UV protection. It adds hydration, smoothness and shine and makes it sooo much easier to comb through wet hair. I used this the first time and was very impressed, I then saturated my hair when I used it again and that was obviously a mistake; you need to give hair a good coating without going overboard – I use around 7-8 sprays for all my hair, most of which gets concentrated on the lengths and ends.
If I had to be really critical, I’d say the only thing I don’t like about this spray is the actual nozzle itself, as it can be a little inconsistent with the pressure, so sometimes you get a big cloud of product, whereas other times it can tend to concentrate on one area, but I always use a comb to distribute it afterwards so it’s really no biggy.
I use the Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray as my first (and often only) step after a wash and it really does do a great job at all the things it promises. I don’t think there are many hair types that wouldn’t benefit from using it, especially as it’s so lightweight and it doesn’t leave any tackiness in the hair. For me, the things I use it for are detangling and heat-protection, but I also love the fact that it’s helping to hydrate my dry ends too.
It’s £27 for the pictured 236ml, but you can also try out the smaller, travel-sized version which looks absolutely adorable at £10 for 49ml, both of which can be found here – link.

This sounds perfect for my hair as it’s also fine and knotty! x
