Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and with the state of the world as it is right now, I wouldn’t judge you at all) then you’ll be at least vaguely familiar with Allies of Skin, as they’re one of those skincare brands that’s really mixed things up with their phenomenal, yet gentle formulas and results-driven skincare; they are also an incredibly charismatic range that gets you excited about skincare as their products just sound so promising and enticing, so it’s understandable that they’ve developed such a committed following. I was sent the Allies of Skin 1A Retinal & Peptide Overnight Mask, which I tried a few times before quickly purchasing a back-up…
The Allies of Skin 1A Retinal & Peptide Overnight Mask is a really interesting product that can quite easily slot into any routine, depending on how you use it. Realistically, you could use this as a nightly moisturiser as the final product in your routine (another thing I like AOS is that they’re very flexible with how you use their products and they encourage you to work it in with your existing routine, with helpful suggestions on what each product works well with) or you could use it a few times a week as an intensive treatment.
I eagerly used this on a nightly basis to start off with, but I did start finding it a tad too rich as a daily product, particularly since my skin is so breakout-prone at the moment, so instead I reduced it to twice a week with the intention of upping it after a while, but both my skin and skincare routine are suiting me so well right now that I’m keeping it as a twice weekly treat; the added benefit being that it’ll last a lot longer as it isn’t cheap! It’s also worth noting that the ingredients list contains Niacinamide which my skin doesn’t tolerate well at all, but it’s low on this list and, when using this a couple of times a week, it doesn’t seem to cause any breakout issues.
The Allies of Skin 1A Retinal & Peptide Overnight Mask contains a beautiful cocktail of skin-loving Antioxidants, Peptides, brighteners and of course, Retinal at a 0.05% strength of Retinaldehyde, alongside Cranberry Seed Oil and Argan Oil, which all work together to provide a huge host of benefits that mostly work around providing a balanced and perfecting effect on skin. This is a true all-rounder of a product that helps with so many issues such as hydration, lines, wrinkles, spots and marks, as well as more superficial issues such as dehydration and dullness. The effect of just one use it truly astounding: I used this right in the middle of a total skin freak out where everything was going wrong; I was dry, red and spotty and the next morning after using this just once, I awoke to skin that felt so much smoother, then when I looked in the mirror, the redness was virtually gone, my skin looked brighter and smoother and the angriness in my breakouts was considerably reduced…hence why I stocked up!
The Allies of Skin 1A Retinal & Peptide Overnight Mask is £105 for a 50ml tube. It’s worth keeping an eye out as they seem to regularly run promotions through their site (find it here – link) but keep in mind that ordering direct from them will likely result in a bit of a wait for delivery. If you can’t wait, you can find them at Space NK here – link – and Cult Beauty here – link.

This is one brand that I am dying to try! I’m waiting for a good discount code or for me to be feeling very spendy because there are a few products on my wishlist! x
